A Song for Any Day (Psalm 121)

I look up to the mountains;
does my strength come from mountains?
No, my strength comes from GOD,
who made heaven, and earth, and mountains
(PSALM 121:1-2 MSG).

Too often we never solve our problems because we look to the wrong place for solutions.

The psalmist quickly realized that the right place to look for help is from “the Maker of heaven and earth” [Psalm 121:2 NIV]. Is there anyone you would rather have as your helper than the God who created this universe? Think about a God who is higher than the hills, above all the armies, and greater than all the economies. The God who created everything controls everything and can help you no matter what your need might be.

52 Weeks Through the Psalms

As Christians, we have only one source of true strength—and that’s in our God, the maker of heaven, earth, the mountains…and us. When we lose our way, when we are at a fork in the road, when we go through deep waters, there is one—and only one- who gives us the strength and inner resources to make it through.

Count on God. Lean hard on him, and him alone. He will not disappoint.
